Bookings
- Bookings are subject to availability and are confirmed once Saltire Auto Solutions accepts the booking.
- You may be asked for your vehicle registration, mileage, symptoms, warning lights, location, preferred date/time and contact details.
- Arrival, collection and completion times are estimates. Parts availability, supplier delays, hidden faults or additional findings can affect timing.
- If you need to cancel or rearrange, please contact Saltire Auto Solutions as early as possible.
Diagnostics, inspections and estimates
- Diagnostic and inspection work may be chargeable even if no repair is later authorised.
- An estimate or quote is based on information available at the time. Hidden faults, seized components, previous damage, corrosion or additional diagnostic findings may change the final work required.
- If additional work or costs are identified, Saltire Auto Solutions will seek your approval before carrying out that additional work, unless urgent safety action is required to protect the vehicle or people nearby.
Authorising work
- Work may be authorised in writing, by email, by WhatsApp/message, through an online quote approval link, by phone, or in person.
- By approving a quote, you authorise Saltire Auto Solutions to order parts where required and carry out the approved work.
- Special-order parts, electrical parts, coded parts, fluids and fitted parts may not be returnable once ordered or installed.
Parts and supplied parts
- Saltire Auto Solutions may use suitable new, OEM-equivalent, genuine, reconditioned or used parts depending on availability, suitability and what is agreed with you.
- If you ask Saltire Auto Solutions to fit customer-supplied parts, this is at Saltire Auto Solutions’ discretion. Labour may still be chargeable if the part is incorrect, faulty, incomplete or unsuitable.
- Warranty on customer-supplied parts remains with the supplier of those parts. Saltire Auto Solutions cannot normally provide a parts warranty for parts it did not supply.
- If you want replaced parts returned, please request this before work starts. Some parts may need to be returned to suppliers under exchange or warranty processes.
Payment and invoices
- Payment is due when work is complete and before the vehicle is released, unless agreed otherwise in writing.
- Invoices may include labour, diagnostics, parts, consumables, recovery/collection, disposal, subcontracted services and any agreed additional work.
- Where a quote is marked as approved, Saltire Auto Solutions may create an invoice for the approved work.
- Saltire Auto Solutions may retain the vehicle until cleared payment is received, where permitted by law.
Vehicle collection and storage
- Please collect the vehicle promptly once you have been told it is ready.
- If a vehicle is not collected within a reasonable time after completion or after work is declined, storage charges may apply. Saltire Auto Solutions will notify you before applying storage charges where practical.
- Please remove valuables and personal belongings before leaving a vehicle. Vehicles and personal belongings are left at your own risk except where loss or damage is caused by Saltire Auto Solutions’ negligence or breach of duty.
Road testing and movement
- You authorise Saltire Auto Solutions to move, inspect and road test the vehicle where reasonably required for diagnosis, repair verification, MOT-related work, recovery or workshop logistics.
- A road test may not be possible if the vehicle is unsafe, uninsured, not road legal, immobilised or otherwise unsuitable to drive.
Safety, MOT and roadworthiness
- Saltire Auto Solutions may advise that a vehicle is unsafe or unroadworthy. You remain responsible for ensuring the vehicle is legal and safe to use on public roads.
- An MOT repair, inspection or diagnostic check is not a guarantee that no other faults exist.
- If you decline safety-related work, Saltire Auto Solutions may refuse to carry out or complete work where doing so would be unsafe or professionally inappropriate.
Warranty and follow-up
- Any warranty will depend on the work carried out, parts supplied, supplier warranty, vehicle condition and how the vehicle is used after repair.
- Warranty does not normally cover unrelated faults, wear and tear, misuse, neglect, modified vehicles, motorsport use, customer-supplied parts, or faults caused by other unresolved issues.
- If you believe there is an issue with completed work, contact Saltire Auto Solutions as soon as possible and give a reasonable opportunity to inspect the vehicle.
Limits of responsibility
- Saltire Auto Solutions will carry out services with reasonable care and skill.
- Saltire Auto Solutions is not responsible for pre-existing faults, hidden defects, intermittent faults, previous repair issues or additional faults discovered during diagnosis or repair.
- Nothing in these terms excludes liability where it cannot legally be excluded, including death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory consumer rights.
Data and communication
- Saltire Auto Solutions may hold your booking, vehicle and contact details to manage enquiries, bookings, quotes, repairs, invoices and follow-up communication.
- Communication may take place by phone, email, WhatsApp/message or website forms depending on how you contact Saltire Auto Solutions.
